Today was pretty much ho-hum. Projects are taking up alot of time and there's psychology test on Sat. Anyway, the surprise of the day was seeing Lim Tong Hai on my way to Bedok Corner for dinner. Sadly, he was in his car at the traffic junction so I couldnt catch up with him. He used to coach me back in St Pat's for a short while and he's a really nice guy to work with. I coming late for training on his first session cos of lessons. Haha. Quite nervous actually. But then again, the first thing I did when I got on the pitch was lob him to score. HAHA. He's a tall fella mind you. The next month, I went for trials for the Geylang United FC Under-18 team and I was the only one out of 15 to get selected. But I didnt sign on as a player cos of my O's. Soccer has always been a big part of my life and its gone missing for quite some time. Its been a long time since I played a really great 11-a-side game with the best young talents in Singapore. Somehow I really wish I didnt

Fender Telecaster and parts of my set up Fender Acoustic Amp Epiphone Les Paul Custom IDENTITY What makes a song? What makes different songs stand out from each other? The biggest question and challenge I face at this point. What I realise is that when I play, it sounds just like a whole mess of notes that dont work. I always find mysel playing the same riffs, solos, chords. There just isnt anything new coming out of my head. Jadon Lavik's cds made me think if I ever could reach that standard. I wonder... ___________________________________________________________________ photos.guitar.music.soccer.life
Got back photog assignments today and thankfully I managed to pull my grades back up. Got an A for night photog and A+ for sports. Went to cut hair after sch and now I'm down with a sore throat. Feck. Bernard is selling his 40th Anniversary Goldtop Les Paul. If only I had the money, that'll be my newest addition to the ever expanding collection of guitars. Unfortunately, I've got more important things to get like the Nikon D70S and a Total Inferno or a Fury. Haha. Anyway Im goin off to rest now. Update more another day.

Fender Telecaster. Is that macro enough for you? Self portrait of my hand. Open house today. Will blog more abt it tmr or something. I seriously need to start on my assignments. Sigh. Soccer tomorrow morning. Bowling booth shift later on at 4. Work, work, work at night. I managed to get a feel of the D70 Marian was using to shoot today. Very nice to shoot with. I HAVE to get one soon. For once, something else is much much more important than guitars.
School today was the usual. Lectures, then off to meet Daryl. Haha. Ah yes, before I forget, I need to introduce to you my crew. LOL. Starting with Co-Pilot Daryl Lim, Navigator Calvin Goh, Head Steward Gerard Ng and Head Stewardess Ong She Na. Very random, but heck. HAHA. I have this craving to just hop on the next plane to Australia and shoot photos and photos and more photos. Somehow, I just feel so unsatisfied with whatever I shot from my last trip. Its so lacking in emotion and techincal ability. Sigh. Lately, I've been in the library, flipping through the travel photography books and those photos I saw are the level I want to be shooting at. I just feel so restricted in Singapore. Everyday, all I see are HDB flat and more flats. The landscape is boring, and I havent witnessed anything fantastic for the past decade or so. I want to be shooting more than just landscape. I want to be shooting people, emotions, whatever is around me. I want to see, at the end of the day, a phot w

The world's most boring photo. Per Comm lecture, slack, eat lunch, stone, discuss photog group assignment, sttone, go library, do form post, slack, listen to music, stone, play CM, laptop died on me 4 times, met Daryl, went to his place, came back to my place, dinner, bowled. Life's a bore. Maybe a Total Inferno can spice things up, or a Nikon D70, or a Gibson Goldtop, or a Paul Reed Smith semi hollow electric. Life's so boring, I'm in dream land. Rah.
Mr. Ting Chow Feng and his little jig. Hahahaha.

A guy gate crashed photog lecture today. He's from SP and CY was just being an idiot to him. Asking him to stand in front of everybody and speak. WTF. What's so difficult about leaving the poor guy alone. Seriously, Kenny Yong should have taken lecture. His travel photog is so much better. Blah. Anyway, other than that, today was pretty much a sucky day. First of all, my bag clip broke, then something else broke, then i slipped on the toilet mat and hit my head on the sharp end of the metal clothes hook on the toilet door. And of course it left he with a bump on the back of my head and it has been throbbing for the past 3 hours. Nick's virgin PnW session was good. It was the first time my guitar actually sounded good on the amp and it came out great on the main system. The master stroke was the wah pedal. $95 for a heck of a great tone. And its the first time i actually left my guitar at the centre cos I dont wanna affect the tone, given that the amp im using is pretty old
I went to apply for my basic theory and you know what? I passed the colour blindness test. WOOOTS! Haha. Well, for those that don't know, I'm colour blind but thank god i managed to get every colour right. Heh. Ah well, I'm kinda tired right now. Maybe I'll go to bed early tonight. Haha. Though I highly doubt I'll be able to do it. Surveys Poster Forums Quizzes Never ending.. *picture to be back up soon

Aussie Kangaroo does cleopatra The polar bear everybody loves. Photog tutorial today was fun, not beacuase of what was thought, but because we spent half the class playing games in the project discussion room, when the other groups were shooting photos. HAHA. We really should do it more often. Anyway, CY came up to me to ask if I was still angry. Well, I'm not. Time to move on. And to make things clear, whatever I typed here was done to get it out of my system. I guess he knew I was angry and that I had made my point that I wasnt fairly graded. Case closed. Other than that, school was mundane as ever. Went to shoot sports photog again. Not sure how it'll turn out. The reason why I redid it was because there was this old lady snoring away in the background of my pic. It was a really cool picture till I notice that old woman sleeping on the chair with her head tilted back. MY GOD. Ultimate spoiler. Well, I'm gonna develop the new pics tomorrow. Pray that they'll look g
Ok I feel good enough to be back posting normally, so here's one of the the shots I took in Australia. Just a simple silhouette shot of a father and son having ice cream by the harbour. Not gonna post much else I suppose. Those who know they'll be getting photos from me, the pics will be ready in about 1 -2 weeks time. Ok. Till then... *picture to be back up soon.
Apparently, I woke up this morning still feeling bitter from that episode involving the bald fuck. I know I shouldnt waste my time feeling all worked up about it, but I felt that what happened was an insult. CY says he's done this, done that, achieved this and that, but till today, I havent seen a single piece of his work. Kenny Yong shows us his pictures and explain to us why his photos are good and all that. What does CY do? He rants about this photo and that photo, tells us to look at photos from professionals then says,"Go out, shoot. Have fun. Your fundamentals will help you alot." Sorry boss, but what fundamentals are there to back us up when you dont exactly teach that well. I think many of us learn better when we try out and have classmates to back us up and help us along the way. It probably beats listening to your boring 2 hour lecture and sitting through your utterly redundant 3 hour tutorial. Seriously, surfing the net and looking at online photog tutorials be

The term MACRO is meant to define a close up shot. Shooting a subject very closely till you can see or feel a texture when it is at its best. My photo did not contain any texture, but there was definately a focal point and to be honest, there were quite a number who said it was nice. So, how does that merit an F? Let me ask the balding shitass fuck of a bitch lecturer CY. "Your focus is a bit off. It is on top of the lady's head. Its not a macro shot." Well for fuck's sake, macro is a close up shot, asshole. A photograph of an image in a book is a close up shot. I used a damn macro lens to shoot the fucking photo and you tell me its not macro. For god's sake, you are a lecturer, but a fucking brainless and useless one if you havent found out by now. So what if the fucking focus is at the top? You told me that in my other picture, Sarah's eyes were not focused properly. What grade did you give me? B+. So why an F for the macro shot? Maybe the number of brain ce

Australia was one heck of a trip. 12 days of travelling, 1250 km driven, 1000+ photos taken. Hah. Sarah wants me to blog about it but I feel utterly lazy to type so much. Oops. Heh. Just some pics from Australia up there. Tasters a suppose.
